- While the benefits of collaboration for systemic change are well understood, there are also many impediments. Key stakeholders must clearly define their motivations and objectives before identifying possible collaborators and areas for collaboration.
- Clarity of purpose between all parties involved is key to driving and sustaining good collaborations. Speakers stressed the importance of transparent communications about goals, motivations and what each party will contribute in terms of both monetary and non-monetary resources. Synergies around project timelines and evaluation metrics are key to defining what success looks like individually and collectively.
- Panelists highlighted the need to include the voices of the beneficiaries who are experiencing these issues on the ground. This group should be kept front and centre of all efforts to create systemic social impact, rather than being an afterthought.
