Workshop: Gender-Responsive Climate Cost Benefit Analysis Tool
10th June 2020 11:15am Singapore Time
- There is a growing demand from government policy makers and planners in Asia-Pacific for information on costs and benefits of proposed actions on climate change – whilst also considering the co-benefits (and costs) with respect to gender equality.
- This session focused on a gender-responsive climate cost-benefit analysis (CBA) tool, developed by WOCAN and UNDP, which incorporates gender analysis to provide a comprehensive picture of impacts and opportunities for women and men. The tool generates co-benefit units that can be coupled with carbon trading units.
- The workshop broke into three groups to try their collective hands at using the CBA tool, focusing on the gender aspects of agricultural projects being implemented in India to address rising sea levels and deforestation.
