Dr. Adam McCarty has over thirty years of experience working in Southeast Asia in a development context both academically and professionally. In 2001 he established Mekong Economics Ltd., where he remains Chief Economist.
Adam has led or been involved in over 100 consulting assignments over the past two decades. Mekong Economics has, inter alia, implement market entry, EIAs, value chain analysis, sector analyses, impact evaluations and other research for corporate clients and governments. Adam has extensive knowledge of socio-economic development and issues in region, including publications and presentations about trade policies and agreements, state enterprise reform, and financial sector liberalization.
Adam McCarty holds a doctorate in Economics at the Australian National University, Canberra. Mekong Economics has offices in Hanoi and Yangon.
