Anurag Hans leads the Base of Pyramid (BoP) Innovation, Market Acceleration & Operations teams at Essilor International. His team works transversally across the inclusive business, philanthropy and advocacy functions of Essilor to incubate and test innovations, inclusive business models, BoP-focused products, solutions, partnerships, supply chain solutions and innovative financing mechanisms to address the needs of the 2.7 billion people around the world who don’t have access to good vision today. Before his current role, Anurag has also managed Essilor’s €49 Million social impact fund, Vision for Life, which has funded interventions and programs that can bring vision care to the underserved.
Anurag has over 17 years of diversified experience across healthcare devices, consumer products, strategy consulting and public policy.
Anurag holds an MBA from INSEAD France, a Masters degree in Marketing from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and an Engineering degree from Delhi Institute of Technology. He has lived in 5 countries and has developed a deep understanding of BoP contexts and development challenges worldwide through extensive travel to more than 20 developing countries of the world.
