Maksudur Rahman has been working with Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) as the Chief Executive since 2010. He is the founder of BEDS. He has immense work experience within the environment and development sectors. He completed Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Honors and Master of Science (MSc) in Zoology from National University, Bangladesh. He got 12th fellow of EPLC (Eco-Peace Leadership Center) from Kangwon National University, Republic of Korea. He also completed International Course on Building Resilient Communities: Community Managed Disaster Risk Reduction (CMDRR) from International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR), Philippines. More than 50 projects have been implemented under his leadership on Environment and Ecosystem; Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation; Clean/Solar Energy; Livelihoods; Wildlife Conservation and Protection; Health and Sanitation; Women and Child Rights and Gender Development with the local people. He has published more than 10 books and several articles. He received Annual Balipara Foundation Award in 2018 as part of his grass-roots leadership recognition.
Under his leadership BEDS received the prestigious Government Divisional Environmental Award in 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015; Energy Globe National Award in 2018 and one of the BEDS implemented projects "Eco Village in Bangladesh" has been selected to be showcased at Expo 2020 Dubai's Global Best Practice Program. He has participated several national and international forum, conference, seminar as a guest speaker and presenter.
