Since 2006, Birger has been part of the Give2Asia team, applying his experience in nonprofit development and partnership building to expand Give2Asia’s work. From his years of experience serving donors, clients and project partners --and prior to that living in South and Southeast Asia --Birger has developed a passion for the diverse and ever-changing landscape of nonprofits and social ventures in the Asia-Pacific region. Before joining Give2Asia, Birger was a vice president at Porter Novelli, helping to lead their Silicon Valley offices and interactive marketing programs for technology clients such as HP, EMC, McAfee and BMC.

He has 15 years of experience in for-profit and nonprofit business management, as well as a background in marketing and communications. He has spoken on the topic of international philanthropy at U.S. and Asia-based events held by such groups as the Council on Foundations, the World Affairs Council, the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network, and the Conference Board. He holds degrees in journalism and in political science from the University of New Hampshire.
