Harvey Koh is a Managing Director at FSG where he leads work on inclusive markets and impact investing.
FSG is an international nonprofit engaged in consulting, research and market building, towards achieving more equitable societies.
Based in London, Harvey works to develop business models and build markets that benefit poor and marginalised populations. This has spanned a wide range of sectors including housing, water, healthcare, energy and agriculture. He also leads FSG’s work to strengthen the impact investing market ecosystem. Harvey has authored influential reports including From Blueprint to Scale (introducing the ‘pioneer gap’ challenge), Beyond the Pioneer, and Shaping Inclusive Markets, and has been published in leading periodicals including SSIR and IDR. Prior to FSG, Harvey co-led the Monitor Inclusive Markets unit at Monitor Deloitte.
Until 2011, Harvey was the founding Head of Investment & Performance at Private Equity Foundation (now Impetus-PEF), a venture philanthropy organisation established in London by TowerBrook, KKR, Blackstone, Bain Capital, TPG, Permira and other leading private equity firms. At PEF, Harvey built up and oversaw a portfolio of 17 high-potential nonprofits and social enterprises, helping them scale by providing medium-term growth capital funding and capacity-building support.
Harvey is a trustee of Social Innovation Exchange (SIX), a leading network supporting social innovators around the world.
Harvey was born and raised in Malaysia, and educated at Cambridge University.
