Laura Hemrika is the Global Head of Corporate Citizenship & Foundations, the team responsible for the bank’s commitment to society above and beyond the bank’s core business, enabling inclusive growth by partnering with and empowering organizations and individuals to advance education, microfinance and other key sectors. Laura joined Credit Suisse in 2010, as Head of the Microfinance Capacity Building Initiative.
Prior to Credit Suisse, Laura worked in strategy consulting at Booz & Company as well as for a number of private and public sector players in the fields of microfinance, fintech, social enterprise and education. She started her career in educational publishing at Houghton Mifflin and in teaching at Boston College. Laura holds an MBA from London Business School with a concentration in finance. She has an MA from Boston College (USA) and has also studied at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Laura is an Aspen Institute First Mover Fellow since 2014. She is on the board of the European Microfinance Platform and of the Swiss Capacity Building Facility, a public-private development partnership with the Swiss government.
