Ronald Abraham is a Partner at IDinsight and is based in New Delhi. Ronald leads IDinsight’s India office and is responsible for the organisation’s regional strategy, growth, impact and financial stability. He also leads IDinsight's unit at NITI Aayog supporting the Aspirational Districts Programme. His area of expertise is in the intersection of data and governance. He is particularly passionate about using data to improve state capacity, especially to transform accountability processes and data-driven decision-making within governments.
Ronald co-founded IDinsight’s India office and has led its growth from 1 to 50+ persons in seven years. Over these years, he has been involved in all aspects of growing IDinsight India. This includes creating a values-based and impact-driven culture, setting and executing strategy, recruiting and mentoring employees, developing multifaceted projects, and balancing the budget.
Under his leadership, IDinsight India has embarked on over 30 analytical engagements in 15 states, spread across multiple sectors including education, health, nutrition, agriculture and governance. Ronald has himself led numerous projects at IDinsight including the State of Aadhaar initiative and learning partnerships with the Governments of Bihar and Andhra Pradesh. He has also led projects supporting various Indian education non-profits, including Akanksha, Going to School, Pratham and STiR.
Previously, Ronald worked with Pratham on the Annual Status of Education Report (2006 and 2007) and as their lead for a statewide learning program with the Government of Punjab.
Ronald holds a BA (Hons.) in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University and an MPA in International Development (MPA/ID) from Harvard Kennedy School (HKS). Ronald received the Joint Japan / World Bank Graduate Scholarship to attend HKS.
