Saleem is the India Director for The British Asian Trust with more than two decades of experience spanning across the private sector and the not-for-profit sector. Over the last two years at The British Asian Trust, Saleem has helped develop the trust’s identity and vision for India, and has been a crucial driver of the development of innovative social finance mechanisms, heightening the Trust’s entrepreneurial approach to deliver the Sustainable Development Goal targets.
Saleem has extensive experience of creating and nurturing philanthropic, business, and cultural relationships across India and South Asia, which is helping tackle some of the most pressing issues across the sub-continent.
Prior to joining The British Asian Trust, Saleem was the Chief Executive of United Way of India and has held senior leadership positions across large multinational companies like Citibank, Aviva and Godrej GE. He has a degree in Electronic Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Mumbai.
