Savinda is a Civil Engineering graduate from Moratuwa University Sri Lanka, he also possesses charted qualifications in Management and Marketing and a Diploma in Buddhism. He worked as an Environmental Engineer at Brandix ltd., one of the largest garment manufacturers in Sri Lanka producing brands such as Marks & Spencer, Nike and GAP. He also lectured Business Mathematics and Management accountancy at Achievers and Wizma Business Schools in Sri Lanka.
He has engaged in the development sector over the last 10 years through his engagement with AIESEC and other youth networks. He is passionate on empowering youth for sustainable development.
Savinda also possess many experiences with the start-up eco system through his efforts in building 5 social enterprises. His passion is to create an enabling environment for the youth entrepreneurs in Asia-Pacific Region. Currently he is coordinating the regional youth project of UNDP Asia-Pacific and pursuing his PhD in Youth and Social Entrepreneurship at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.
