Smita Nakhooda is a Senior Results Management Specialist in the Results Management and Aid Effectiveness Division of the Strategy and Policy Department of ADB. The Division serves as ADB’s focal point on the Sustainable Development Goals, where she leads this area of work. Prior to joining ADB, Ms. Nakhooda was a Senior Research Fellow at the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) in London, the UK where she led the team working on climate change and finance. Her work focused on strengthening the effectiveness of finance for environmentally sustainable development. Previously she was a Senior Associate at the World Resources Institute in Washington DC, USA from 2003 to 2011, where she led work on energy governance and environmental finance.
Ms. Nakhooda is an Indian national. She holds an M.Sc. in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics, and a B.A. in Government and Environmental Studies from Dartmouth College, USA in 2003.
