Soo is a cum laude graduate of Duke University, earning her BA in Political Science and her J.D. at Cornell Law School. She is a member of the New York Bar and Phi Beta Kappa. She is a funds lawyer, previously working with Sidley Austin in its International Funds Group and then at Jones Day in its Private Equity Group.
As an associate, Soo found herself spending long hours servicing clients mainly pursuing profit first, so she began to explore alternative ways she could use her legal skills for the greater purpose. She realized the importance of finding synergies between legal, strategic and social investment objectives, and moved to Blue Dot to help those pursuing triple bottom line results from their investments – not just post-profit philanthropy. Soo currently serves social enterprises, family offices, emerging impact fund managers, and NGOs.
Soo resides in Hong Kong with her husband and daughter, and among other things enjoys doing yoga with her family in gorgeous places.
