From 2014 to 2017, Asia-Pacific nations were affected by over 500 natural disasters, which impacted 650 million people and caused the deaths of 33,000 people (World Economic Forum data).

This session will showcase technologies from the top five finalists of the Prudence Foundation Disaster Tech Innovation Programme. The programme, centred around a competition, aims to create a platform to showcase and raise the awareness of technology aimed at saving and protecting lives from natural disasters. It is also aligned with SDGs 11 and 13.

These five finalists went through three rounds of review by capital, tech and disaster experts, who collectively assessed the most impactful and scalable tech solutions. In this session, they will now present their innovations to the delegates.

We are delighted to have Donald Kanak, Chairman of Prudence Foundation open this session.
